Addie Jewell Simms Jones, 98, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at her home.
She was born on December 13, 1925, in Providence, KY, to the late Vina Carter Simms and Tommy Simms. She was formerly a self-employed beautician. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and quilting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Jewell attended Oakley Home Church and First General Baptist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Jones; and her brothers, Junior Simms, Harold Simms, and D.B. Simms.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Alan) Oakley of Manitou, KY; son, Randy (Lana) Jones of Gulf Shores, AL; brother, Cecil (Pam) Simms; grandsons, Troy (Stacey) Oakley of Nortonville, KY, and Lee Jones of New Orleans, LA; granddaughter, Alanda Wagner of Madisonville; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Oakley officiating and Randy Jones assisting. Burial to follow at Oakley Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Dylan Wagner, Hagan Oakley, Josh Oakley, Alan Oakley, Lee Jones, and Brian Cloern.
