A Madisonville man is being charged with wanton endangerment for not caring for his infant. The police officer was with a Child Protective Services representative at a lot on Dulin Street early Monday afternoon. After repeatedly knocking on the door, Samuel Holeman answered it. He had been hiding in a bedroom. The 5-month old child was overheated, thirsty, and in need of clean clothes. The child’s mother was located at another lot in the neighborhood. Alexis Vannoy was unaware of her baby’s location. She too, was charged with wanton endangerment.
A Michigan man is charged with burglary and arson in Madisonville. When the sheriff’s office arrived at 71-70 Rosecreek Road on Saturday morning, there was a fire in the sunroom that was extinguished using a water hose. In a locked room, deputies located 24-year-old Mike Wilson. He said he started the fire that burned photos of the homeowner’s deceased husband.

Roddy says the venue will have six basketball courts, 12 volleyball courts, and 22 pickleball courts.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reporting that more than 150 highway crew members are, or will, have been on the front lines to assist the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s effort to rebuild and repair roads damaged by Hurricane Helene. A number of the crew members helped do a similar job in Eastern Kentucky not that long ago.

Madisonville is constructing an industrial project on Highway 41-A. The large building on the almost 17-acre site will be Build Ready-certified. Build-Ready means it won’t take long to get the industry up and running. The Economic Development Corporation says this emphasis on speed-to-market makes the site attractive to companies looking to quickly establish or expand their operations.
It was a domestic violence call that drew the police to an address on North Seminary in the middle of the night last week. Trelen Snorton told the police how that he brought a handgun into the living room to encourage his girlfriend and her young daughter to leave. The police report indicates that as she recorded him on her phone, the complainant says Snorton got rough with her, even though she’s 20 weeks pregnant. The police heard the recording, and shortly thereafter, arrested Snorton.
The 6th grade student at James Madison Middle School who is a finalist in the I Voted sticker contest is having her sticker printed for all of the Hopkins County voters at the Ballard Convention Center. Here’s County clerk Keenan Cloern.
Early voting at the Ballard will be from 8 until 4 on Thursday through Saturday, October 31st to November 2nd.
In Central City, the police are alerting the community to ignore a new email scam. Several persons have reported to the police that they have received an email notifying them that if they don’t send in money, humiliating photos will be placed online.
