Mary Sue Simmons, 82, of Mortons Gap, KY passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at Hillside Health and Rehab in Madisonville, KY.
She was born March 19, 1942, to the late Robert Lee Layman Sr. and Julia Kathleen Risley, her son, William Sizemore, stepson, Michael Simmons, and a brother, Robert Lee Layman Jr.
Mary was of the Methodist faith, she enjoyed gardening and bird watching but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Simmons of Mortons Gap; one daughter, Starr Sizemore, of Madisonville; one son, Brook (Joanne) Sizemore of Madisonville, and stepson, Jeffery Simmons of Nortonville, KY; five grandchildren, Brett (Katie) Sizemore, Cara (Aaron) Reynolds, William Gauge Terry, Sydnee Sizemore, and Michael Simmons; two nieces, Jennifer Springer and Nichole Clements.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday September 29, 2024, at Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, KY, with Rev. Scott Heltsley officiating. A burial will follow at the Cemetery.
