Robert “Bob” Edward Winstead, Sr., 81, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born on February 23, 1943, in Madisonville, KY to the late Margaret Marie McLeod Winstead and William Strauther Winstead. He was a United States Army veteran and was a pastor at First Baptist Church in Prospect, KY. Bob loved studying God’s Word. He enjoyed hiking and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Murlyne Hogue Winstead; and his brother, Richard Winstead.
Survivors include his daughters, Mariann (Joe) Golden of Madisonville and Susan (Shawn) Lucas of Locust Grove, GA; sons, Robert Winstead, Jr. of Nordland, WA and John (Katy) Winstead of Springfield, VA; brother, Charles Winstead of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Ann Dever of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville with Bro. Ty Meredith officiating. Military honors will be conducted graveside by the United States Army.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home.
The pallbearers are Shawn Lucas, Christopher Lucas, Joe Golden, Matthew Golden, Tom Holmes and Vince Manning.
