Lula Marjorie Crabtree Ray, 98, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehab in Madisonville.
She was born on September 20, 1925, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Willie Ervin Blue Crabtree and Joseph Crabtree. She loved softball, bowling, watching golf, quilting, reading, and working word puzzles. She was an avid UK fan and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Marjorie was a member of Hanson United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Truman Ray, Sr.; and her brother, Coy Crabtree.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Ron) Hogart of Madisonville; son, Jimmie (Lou Ann) Ray, Jr. of Madisonville; grandsons, Timmy (Tammy) Melton of Hanson, KY, Terry (Tammy) Melton of Cadiz, KY, and Jamie (Emily) Ray of Madisonville, and Joe (Alesh) Ray of Evansville; granddaughter, Katie (Jake) Wyatt of Madisonville; and her niece, Priscilla (Junior) Dunville of Hanson, KY.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Tami Coleman officiating. Burial to follow at Hanson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jamie Ray, Terry Melton, Joe Ray, Jake Wyatt, Alex Ray, and Jack Wyatt. The honorary pallbearer is Timmy Melton.
