Doris Ann McVay, 76, of Providence, KY passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.
She was born on March 8, 1948 in Whiteland, IN to the late William Russell Burgess and Doris Lorrene Laue Burgess. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Green and her granddaughter, Laura Brooksher.
Doris enjoyed playing games, sewing, and watching wrestling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Leamon Roy McVay of Providence, KY; three daughters, Bobbie (Adrian) Skimehorn of Crittendon Co, KY, and Susan Adams and Beth-Ann McVay, both of Providence; one son, Steven R. Grimes of KY; three sisters, Kathy (Gary) Poore of Livermore, KY, Janice (Johnny) Sosh of Whiteland, KY, and Carolyn Phillips of Calhoun, KY; one brother, John Burgess of Calhoun; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M Thursday August 22, 2024 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home – Providence Chapel with Bro. Gary Poore officiating. Burial will take place at Green Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time Thursday at the funeral home in Providence.
