Wayne A. Mangun, 84, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehab in Madisonville.
He was born on October 29, 1939, in Joliet, IL, to the late Ruby Nettie Allen Mangun and Charles Gaylord Mangun. He retired as a detective sergeant with the Frankfort Police Department in Frankfort, IL. He was a United States Marine Reservist. He enjoyed horseback riding, gold panning, and his Lionel Train Collection. Wayne was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, LauraLee Veltman Mangun; daughter, Marcie Clarke of Plainfield, IL; son, Terry (Jean) Mangun of Joliet, IL and Patrick Mangun of Plainfield, IL; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
