Marilyn Joyce Rhew, 87, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.
She was born on January 2, 1937, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Murtie Simms Walker and Marvin Walker. She retired after twenty-six years from General Electric. She loved going to Florida and the lake. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marilyn was a lifetime member of Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou.
Survivors include her sons, Barry (Peggy) Rhew of Madisonville, KY, and Craig (Debbie) Rhew of Frankfort, IN; grandsons, John (Kim) Rhew of Madisonville and Sean (Sarah) Rhew of Knob Noster, MO; granddaughters, Ashley (Ryan) Martin of Signal Mountain, TN and Leah (Doug) Smart of Frankfort, IN; eight grandchildren; her loving dog, Basil; and her loving and caring neighbors, Kevin and Teresa Law.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou with Pastor Eddie Fleming officiating and Bro. James Parish assisting. Burial to follow at Concord General Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home and then from 1 p.m. on Sunday until the funeral hour at the church.
Pallbearers are John Rhew, Sean Rhew, Doug Smart, Adam Martin, Craig Rhew, and Marlin Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are Denise Dame, Eddie Duncan, James Morrow, Cooter Russ, David Osborn, and Danny Dame.
