Jannie Sue Tirey, 74 of Mortons Gap passed away Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Maple Health and Rehab in Greenville. Born November 14, 1951, to the late Paul and Verta (Vandiver) Tirey. Jannie retired from Wal-Mart after 28 years of service. She loved spending time on the beach or she was always ready for a trip to the mountains. As long as she was spending time with her family then she was happy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Delores Hayes; and her infant brother, Ronald Tirey.
Survived by her son, Walter (Jennifer) Ray Phillips, Jr.; granddaughter, Cassie (Cody) Nelson; 2 great-grandchildren, Amilyah and Deacon Nelson; niece, Kelcey Postlewait; and nephews, Cameron Hayes and Chalon Hayes.
Services will be private for family.
