Pat Stegelman, age 88, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on October 3, 2026 at her residence.
Known for being glamorous, kind and tough, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She loved growing flowers, fishing, trail riding with her brother and cooking for her loved ones. She was a landman, taking oil and gas leases with her husband in the 1970’s and 1980’s.
She was also the owner and manager of Broadway Street Babes, a children’s clothing store.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Stegelman; her parents, Link Davis and Opal Gridder Davis; sisters, Hazel Stockard and Helen Stewart; and brother Jack Davis.
She is survived by her sons, Kriss Stegelman and Rick Stegelman; her daughters, Kathy Stegelman Cox and Karol Stegelman Slaton; and her grandchildren, Josiah Cox, Dr. Paul Cox, Dr Daniel Stegelman, Sarah Stegelman Kocher, Beth Slaton Haynes, Nathan Slaton, and Nickolas Slaton.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Hicklin Cemetery in Madisonville, KY, at 1:00 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Scott and Dillon Alkire, Ryan Clark, Greg Campbell, Kyle Keown, and James Slaton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Helen Scalf Norris Slaton, John Slaton and Jeff Abott.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Joanne Eastwood, Angel Wilkerson, Henry Daugherty, Scott Alkire and Crystal Plunkitt for taking such good care of her in her time of need. Special thanks also to Jeff Abbott, Will Abbott and Ricky Wadale for running to her aid, any time she needed them.
The family also extends its appreciation to Park Grove Nursing Home and Rehab, Hospice of Western KY, Country Cupboard, The Farm House and Dos Copas Restaurants. Without these wonderful people, it would have been much harder to take care of her. Of course, she also occasionally had Moonlite BBQ. In the great words of Mrs. Patricia herself, “It truly takes a community to take care of all of us.”
Flowers may be sent to 3539 Anton Road, Madisonville, KY 42431.
