An organization that provides free civil legal assistance says recovery is still ongoing for many families across Western Kentucky impacted by the December 2021 tornadoes. Kentucky Legal Aid is hosting “Disaster Legal Help Days” to connect survivors with legal assistance and answers to questions that may still be affecting their recovery. The fugitive found in Madisonville is now on his way back to Tennessee. Tennessee State Probation and Parole notified the MPD that they believed Anthony Riggs was residing at a residence on Fernwood Drive. Riggs was arrested and was turned over to Wayne County authorities.
The state is warning residents about scams following the shooting death of one of its troopers. The only organization fully endorsed by the Hayden Phillips family to accept donations is the Kentucky State Police Foundation.

Deer can do this any month, but October through December are when it happens most often. Drivers are prone to swerve to avoid the collision only to position themselves for a crash. The state senator representing Hopkins and three other counties is glad to announce that he is being endorsed by the Kentucky Firefighters Association. They say that Robby Mills has supported firefighters by championing bills supporting pensions and health.
A Madisonville non-profit that unites native African Americans and advocates for civil rights, civic engagement, and community unity is encouraging all voters to take a couple of minutes to check their voter status. The African American Coalition of Hopkins County says it should not be taken for granted that a voter’s name is still on the voter rolls. They say just because you always vote, you can be dropped without being notified. Remember, today is the last day to register to vote for the November election. They will shut it down at 4 o’clock. Drivers using the Twin Bridges in Henderson are using a temporary traffic pattern. There will be three lanes of traffic on the northbound bridge. One of the three will be southbound. The southbound bridge will have just just one lane open. Together, the bridges will have two lanes north and two lanes south.
