Eldon Lee James, II, age 55, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at his residence.
Mr. James was born on September 10, 1971 to Eldon Lee James, I, and Rebecca Darnell James.
He was a graduate of Dawson Springs High School, and received his Masters in Education from Murray State University. He was a farmer, a retired agriculture teacher, and during his teaching career he coached high school baseball, boys and girls basketball, and football.
He was a member of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Nortonville, KY.
Mr. James is survived by his wife ~ Laura Coleman James of Dawson Springs, KY; one son ~ Austin James (Skylar) of Madisonville, KY; one daughter, Kylee Dill (Jonathan) of Dawson Springs, KY; one sister, Kelly (Stephen) Grimes of Dawson Springs, KY; one brother, Jordan James of Nashville, TN; one grandchild, Collins James; mother, Rebecca James of Dawson Springs, KY.
Mr. James was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Lee James, I; and one nephew.
Visitation for Mr. Eldon Lee James, II, will be Monday, September 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM at the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Nortonville, KY. His service will be officiated by Rev. Steve Rutherford, Rev. Ben Prevette and Rev. Kent Akin. Burial will follow at Menser Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers include Austin James, Jonathan Dill, Cody Nesmith, John Coates, Greg Copeland and Brian Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers include all former baseball, basketball and football players of Coach James.
