The Madisonville driver observed to be speeding by a police officer and for failing to use a turn signal is being arrested. The officer said that Yelsin Mejia-Santamaria had previously been stopped and issued a warning for the same violations. These crimes occurred on South Kentucky Avenue. Mejia-Santamaria said he had been in the US for five years and had failed to get his driver’s license.
The sheriff of Webster County is reporting that while on routine patrol he located a suspect vehicle linked to a series of convenience store burglaries. William Braden spotted the white SUV backed into a residential driveway. Upon making contact with the resident, Sheriff Braden conducted an interview with Christopher Rideout. Rideout provided details regarding his involvement. Deputies obtained a search warrant and recovered evidence linking Rideout to surveillance footage. A large quantity of kratom was located inside the residence, consistent with items reported stolen during the burglaries.

In Frankfort, the Secretary of State says Kentucky is a national success story for clean elections. Michael Adams has announced that over 318,000 deceased voters have been removed from voter rolls since he took office. Meanwhile, Adams says that despite ongoing list maintenance, Kentucky’s voter registration continues to surge with over 8,200 new voters last month.
