Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville says it is aware of reports of phishing scams that are targeting healthcare patients. The scams involve fraudsters trying to steal log-in credentials, personal information and payment details. Fraudulent emails use the MyChart name and branding to offer free health kits, gifts, or surveys.
The mayor of Earlington says as soon as resources are found, the city will open an Animal Control office. Albert Jackson says the city is forming a committee to discuss how they can enforce animal ordinances. He says the big hold up is finances. Jackson adds that there are no police officers or animal control personnel to enforce the ordinances.
Former governor Matt Bevin is jailed in Jefferson County for contempt of court. He has refused to provide financial records in the case related to his divorce and child support for one of his adopted children. The judge says he is supposed to serve 60 days, but says she is not opposed to 30 days if his attitude improves. Angela Johnson says Bevin has a long history of obstructing court orders by repeatedly missing hearings and turning over heavily redacted documents.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is accepting applications for fall quota hunts for deer, waterfowl, pheasants and sandhill cranes. Hunters can apply for these annual quota hunts through midnight (CT) on Wednesday, September 30th, via the MyProfile online portal at the department’s website: It is: fw.ky.gov.
State road crews say they are in the second phase of the I-69 project to address subsurface mine voids beneath the interstate at mile marker 111. To stabilize the road, the project involves drilling new bore holes to inject grout into the old mine. Since maps of the mine are not available, engineers are using subsurface investigations to identify the location and condition of the underground workings.
The Hopkins County Board of Education meets tomorrow (Tuesday) evening at 5:30 at the new Central Administration Office at 21-35 North Main.
Since the tornado that ripped Dawson Springs, plans to rebuild and plans to grow have been in place. One of the biggest projects has been rebuilding city park from scratch. The Madisonville City Engineer says it’s going to be quite impressive. Here’s Justin Lamb.
In Muhlenberg County, some sections are still under a boil water advisory. It’s not known how long the advisory will last. It was issued because an automated valve malfunctioned at the Central City Water Treatment Plant, resulting in a bad reading on one filter. In the meantime, the boil water order stands.
Greenville is ready for Patriot Day. All of the flags are in place on Martin Hill at the summer house in JP Morgan Park. The project was accomplished by the high school J-ROTC and many other volunteers. September 11th is the 25th anniversary of the 9-11 memorial.
