Edward Allen Melton, 79, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at his home.
He was born on August 5, 1947, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Obert and Nora Melton. He retired as a Chaplain at Eddyville Prison, (The Farm). He loved spending time with his great grandchildren, watching Kentucky Wildcat basketball, going to Thursday morning bible study, and spoiling his lovely wife. He was a member of Living Waters Church in Madisonville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles “Buck” Glaysbrook and mother-in-law, Ruby “Liz” Glaysbrook.
Survivors include his wife, of thirty-two years, Judy Glaysbrook Melton of Madisonville; step-daughters, Joanie (Steve) Cobb of Moody, AL and Leigh Ann (David) Jackson of Madisonville; grandchildren, Lyndsey (Kyle) Bailey, Makensey Haupt, Jordan Jackson and Chloe Jackson; and his great-grandchildren, Liam Jackson, Parker Bailey, Ruby Jackson and Lena Morris.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor David Jackson officiating and Bro. Jessie Campbell and Bro. Billy Crabtree assisting. Burial to follow at Grapevine Cemetery, in Madisonville, KY.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.
