The MPD says a traffic stop is what lead to the arrest of four persons on drug charges. The vehicle was stopped due to excessive window tinting and no rear license plate. During a search of the vehicle, the officer located baggies of suspected synthetic marijuana, a digital scale, and, a clear baggie containing multiple hydrocodone pills. Arrested was the driver , Eddie Geary and his passenger, Aurora Geary. After executing a search warrant at the Geary home, they arrested on drug crimes Shelly Madison and Roy Geary.
The Webster County Schools want to remind everyone that there are new start and end times this year. Classes begin at 7:50. Classes end at 2:50.
Our governor loves to share good financial news. Andy Beshear says the General Fund receipts rose 29 percent in July, marking one of the highest growth rates in recent years. He says collections came in 320 million dollars higher than budgeted. He describes this as a strong start to the new fiscal year, after finishing the old year with a revenue surplus of 476-million dollars.
The director of the Kentucky Resources Council says there is no statewide regulation of data centers. Ashley Wilmes says local governments are trying to figure out how to zone buildings which are part warehouse, part computer processing and often part energy production facility. Those who support data centers say they will create jobs, boost local tax money, and power new technology. There are energy experts, policymakers, and tech companies that believe modern data centers can actively improve power grid support.

A Montana wildlife biologist is questioning the Kentucky legislature for allowing for the first nighttime hunting of bobcats, including the use of nighttime goggles and thermal scopes. Tim Hiller is with the Wildlife Ecology Institute. He believes management decisions on wildlife should be left to the experts. Two state wildlife biologists and some members of the Fish and Wildlife Commission agree. Those on both sides of the issue agree that wildlife management can be very complex.
