Larry Veon Benton, 58 of Madisonville passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess with his family at his side. Born December 30, 1967, to the late Larry Dale Benton and the late Priscilla (Camplin) Benton Nichols. Larry was a hard working man, always trying to help and care for his family; he worked at Martin Rea in Hopkinsville for 20 years before his health forced him to retire. He enjoyed watching television and playing solitaire to pass the time. He was a big fan of all of the superhero movies and franchises. His dog, Gizmo, brought him much comfort and was a loyal companion. Larry’s pride and joy was his family and time spent with them.
Survived by his wife of 35 years, Kimberly (Gordon) Benton; 4 children, Nicholas (Tiffany) Holmes of IN, Whitney (Gary) Benton of Madisonville, Maranda (Derek) Turner of Clay and D.J. (Amber) Benton of Belton; 14 grandchildren; and 3 siblings, Kathy (Daniel) Camplin of Madisonville, Randy (Chris) Benton-White of Henderson and Joey (Crystal) Benton of Utica.
Service will be held Wednesday, August 12th at 1:00pm at New Abundant Life Fellowship in Nortonville with Bro. Brad Payne officiating. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will be from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the church. Pallbearers will be Derek Turner, Gary Ezell, JR Scott, JB Scott, Logan Browning and Mike Payne. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Gordon and Richard Gordon, Jr.
