Sharon Bennett Sullivan, 79, of Oakland, KY, formerly of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Greenwood Nursing and Rehab in Bowling Green, KY.
She was born on October 20, 1946, in Central City, KY, to the late Flora Ella Uzzle Bennett and Edward “Eddie” L. Bennett, Jr. She worked at York in Madisonville and was formerly the co-owner of Sullivan’s Heating and Plumbing. She enjoyed gardening, reading, painting, and coloring. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, her friends and her dogs. Sharon was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Muhlenberg County, KY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie F. Sullivan; brothers, Thomas Bennett, Ned Bennett, Cecil Bennett, and Robert Bennett; and her sister, Linnie Carter.
Her survivors include her daughter, Jennifer (Kim Pitts) Fulkerson of Oakland, KY; son, Tim (Tammy) Cummins of Madisonville, KY; sister, Freda Stewart of Kentucky; grandchildren, Jordan Fulkerson, Katelyn Pitts, Makayla Cummins, Abby Cummins and Josh (Malessa) Muhlethaler; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Burt FitzHugh officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home.
