Noble Lee Abendroth

“Noble Lee Abendroth was born to Dean and Electa in the family home in southern Illinois on October 1. He married the love of his life, Barbara. When he married Barbara, he gained a daughter, Billie. He also has 2 other children, Jean and Loral, from a previous marriage. His brother, Dallas’s son, Jim, has lived with him and helped build his cabin. Noble joined the army as a young man when he was 17 years old. He never had to serve overseas, but he used his mechanical and welding skills to serve our nation while stationed in New York. Though Noble isn’t an academic minded man, he is very intelligent, generous, and practical. Those traits served him well throughout his life, and he is viewed as a very wise and kind man by all who know him. To surrounding neighbors, he was very generous with his skills and time. Often, he would come home from working a night shift to find a neighbor with some farm equipment that needed to be fixed. He would drop everything to help his neighbors. One other characteristic that he is known for is his witty sense of humor. He doesn’t have a lot to say but when he speaks it’s often going to be something that makes you laugh. Noble has always loved all things mechanical. He was getting cars running and driving them by the time he was 10 years old. He must have gotten that from his grandmother who rode with him in the model A that he souped up and smiled the entire ride! He loved to ride motorcycles too! During his marriage to Barbara, they were members of CMA, Christian Motorcycles of America, and traveled throughout the USA as well as out of the country. Noble served as an officer for CMA, often leading activities for youth. He is very young at heart. Noble also loves nature and owns 50 acres of semi wooded hills which he has raised a few head of cattle, a catfish pond, (his favorite eating fish), and a log home which he built with Barbara. Around the place you will find many, many other things which he has built including wagons and even a wood splitter which he used to split the wood to heat his home. One of his favorite things to do is to share his 50 acres. Friends and family come to fish, hike, have campfires, drink sweet tea on the porch, work in his garage, and just “be”. This is one of the things which made Noble the most happy. He always enjoyed having his Sunday School Class from church out to their house for a Christmas Party. Barbara taught the senior adults class for several years. That is something Noble wouldn’t enjoy doing BUT he loved to share his 50 acres. Noble is still a humble country man with a very kind and generous heart.” Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Loletuth Kalz officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Cemetery near Harrisburg, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
