Margie Nell Carnal Rickard, 78

Margie Nell Carnal Rickard, 78, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Olive Branch Senior Living in Dickson, TN. She was born on January 15,1948, in Madisonville, to the late Buford Carnal and Josie Bridgett Horsefield. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Renshaw. Mrs. Rickard worked as a teacher, where she taught at Madisonville North Hopkins High School and Madisonville Community College for over 50 years. She graduated from Midway College and Cumberland University, both of Eastern Kentucky. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, and she volunteered at Door of Hope, Christian Food Bank, and the church for years. She is survived by one son, Brian (Elaina) Rickard of Dickson, TN; two grandchildren, Kiersten Rickard and McKenna Rickard, also of Dickson, TN; one nephew, Mike (Angie) Renshaw of Madisonville; and one great-nephew, Noah Renshaw of Madisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 31, 2026, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home – Madisonville Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jon Kalz officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 30, 2026, and from 9:00 A.M. until the service time Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Noah Renshaw, Mike Renshaw, Brian Rickard, Randy Blanchard, Greg Adams, and Brandon Mione.
