Obituary

James Byrum, 78, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.He was born on October 25, 1947, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Mary Louise Ashby Byrum and James Henry Byrum. He was a factory worker for Ahlstrom. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his siblings, Lena Givens and Marie (Jack) Forbes, both of Madisonville, Owen (Mary Lou) Byrum and Terry Byrum, both of Madisonville, Beverly (Donald) Franklin of St. Charles, KY, and Patricia (Dennis) Carson of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville with Pastor Carl Nelson officiating. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
