The Madisonville Police Department has a new program they call the Junior Police Academy. The participant limit for the first class has been reached. The academy is intended to provide participants with an opportunity to learn about law enforcement, public safety, leadership, and the daily responsibilities of police officers.
In an effort to find more school bus drivers, Webster County will have a driving event. Interested persons can take the wheel and see how it goes. The day will be tomorrow (Friday), the 19th from10 until 1 at the high school.
The governor is urging our state congressional delegation to pass the Homegrown Fertilizer Act. Andy Beshear says the bill directs the USDA to issue grants and loans to expand domestic fertilizer manufacturing, processing, and storage.
The state is seeking public comment on the document that guides how federally funded transportation projects comply with the National Historic Preservation Act. The Madisonville Police Department is announcing a lateral hire. Officer Todd Stringer is a 2018 graduate of Muhlenberg County High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Murray State University, and graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training in 2023, where he was recognized as the Recruit of Distinction. Stringer served with the Central City Police Department for three years, and was recognized as the Officer of the Year last year.

More airline service is headed to Owensboro this fall. United Express service operated by SkyWest Airlines will replace the current E-A-S service provided by Contour Airlines. They say they will share schedules, destinations, fares, and additional details soon.
