Governor Beshear says almost 2-million dollars is being given to five projects to improve industrial access sites. Mr. Beshear says investments like these not only make the railways safer, but help provide opportunities and good-paying jobs. He says each grant is reviewed and recommended by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.
The Hopkins County Jail is grateful to those who organized and led the spiritual retreats the last two weekends. Chaplains Pete Phelan and Janice Moore say 13 men made commitments during the Foundations of Faith program. They say a total of 29 individuals made life-changing commitments to Christ. The jail says they are committed to providing opportunities that encourage accountability, personal growth, and positive change.

Muhlenberg County’s eight volunteer fire departments are receiving cash gifts from the Felix E. Martin Jr. Foundation. Each gratitude grant is for 50-thousand dollars. Each fire department was recently invited to lunch by the foundation.
