The Madisonville police say the intoxicated man who was doing burnouts in front of the Brick Bar and Grill on West Center Street is facing three charges. After Hunter Kemble failed the sobriety test, he was transported to the detention center.
It was complaints to the police that led to the arrest of a woman who was offering sexual favors. The suspect is Yue Yang. She was arrested by an undercover officer. The police received calls involving the Total Tranquility Spa at 614 East Arch Street. Yang is charged with Engaging in Organized Crime.
In Graham, the gasoline leak and fire is still disrupting life for some families as authorities investigate it. About 18 homes were involved. Authorities say the area is still burning and they are going to let the fire continue to burn until the leak is fixed. The line belongs to BP. They believe the contamination impact is minimal. BP is also providing some hotel accommodations for the residents. A section of KY 175 will remain closed for several days.

A big fundraiser for the Hopkins County Humane Society is almost here. All of the money raised by the third annual Run for the Paws 5-K race will help the animals with their care. You can read more about the Saturday, June 6th event on the humane society’s Facebook page.
The state is out with a reminder. The new driver licensing system will replace the nearly 40-year-old platform and is part of the effort to modernize services. The upgraded system will allow Kentuckians to accomplish a number of things, such as pre-applying for a license, permit or ID, and requesting a card replacement. All Driver Licensing Regional Offices will be closed tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday, the 5th in order to launch the new and improved driver licensing system. The offices will reopen on Monday, the 8th. Customers with licenses or IDs expiring this month are encouraged to visit an office early.
This is from the Hopkins County Clerk’s office. There will be a public drawing for ballot positions today (Thursday) at 2. It will be at the Clerk’s Office at 24 Union Street. The clerk’s office also says that registration renewal notices were mailed late by a vendor for the Department of Revenue.
The Madisonville police are reporting the arrest of a resident of the Homestead Personal Care Home on Thompson Avenue. James Wheeler was allegedly harassing another resident. While investigating the situation, Wheeler was yelling at and cursing the other residents and the police officer. Wheeler is charged with disorderly conduct.
Preparations are underway for the Expungement & Resource Fair in Madisonville. It will be on Thursday, June 11th at the First United Methodist Church at 200 East Center Street.
