A Madisonville woman is facing charges for attempting to prevent the police from making an arrest. Laura Hall told the officers that she was not housing a fugitive that the police were told was staying at her Crowley Lane home. She became loud and hostile and fought the officers as they placed her in handcuffs. One of Hall’s four charges was assaulting a police officer.
An obstructed windshield is what led to a traffic stop on North Seminary. Due to the smell of marijuana, the officer received permission from Dustin Wallace to search the vehicle. A smoking device was located as well as three separate containers of suspected meth, marijuana, and synthetic marijuana. Wallace is facing four charges, including trafficking in meth.
Atmos Energy will tell you that pipeline replacement is one of the keys to safety. Speaking of pipeline replacement, Atmos says that four Madisonville streets will have new replacement pipes by the end of August. Altogether, 85 service lines will be replaced on portions of West Broadway, Sharp Avenue, Adams Avenue, and Springlake Drive.

A number of Graham families are waiting to get back into their homes. On Monday, they were evacuated due to a petroleum pipeline fire between Bards Hill Road and U.S. 62 along KY 175 that was caused by a leaking line. The evacuation went smoothly. B-P will be evaluating the issue.
The Hopkins County Health Department van helps them reach out into the community. Today, (Wednesday), it will be at the Mortons Gap City Park. Tomorrow, it will be at the Nortonville Ideal. Friday, it will be at Dawson Springs Veterans Park in Town Square. The hours for each stop will be from 10 until 2.
The Madisonville Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation is earning national recognition for the things that matter most to growing businesses. The local organizaton is strong in several areas: foreign direct investment, manufacturing jobs, aerospace-related exports per capita, air cargo by landed weight, and the manufacturing talent pipeline. The E-D-C says these rankings reflect years of investment in workforce development, infrastructure, and site readiness. These ratings will help the area compete for new jobs, new investment, and new opportunities.

To make the transition, all driver’s license locations will be closed June 4th and 5th. A number of online services will not be available starting today (June 3rd).
The deportation of millions from our country involves many Kentucky jails. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says illegal residents from 37 other states are spending time in the Commonwealth. Federal officials are generally using county jails in mostly rural areas as de facto holding pens. Many of the immigrants are waiting for their cases to play out in court.
