Obituary
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Melton, and his precious fur babies, Maggie and Bella Warren.
His survivors include his loving wife of twenty-three years, Vicky Ellis Warren of Manitou; his only daughter, Summer Warren of Nashville, TN; his mother, Sue Crowley Warren of Slaughters, KY; sister, Patsy Owen of Phoenix, AZ; brother, David (Mary) Warren of Slaughters, KY; stepchildren, Raymond (Sara) Humphrey, Ellison (Ally) Humphrey, and Cheyenne (Ross) Conrad; step-grandchild, Raelynn Humphrey; brother-in-law, Eddie Melton; four nieces; Alicia Owen, Katie (Robert) Duncan, Emily (Lance) Keith, Alli (Jon) Major; five nephews, Mark Melton, Brett (Dawn) Melton, Scott Owen, Trevar (Caroline) Warren, Chasetyn (Shannon) Warren; and many great nieces and nephews.
He grew up attending Slaughters Baptist Church where he was saved and baptized at the age of thirteen. One of his fondest memories was making a bird house during Bible School as a child. Later in his adult life, he attended a Great Banquet weekend where he rededicated his faith.
As a teenager and young adult, he found great joy in riding dirt bikes and motorcycles, embracing the sense of adventure they brought. He was a hunter and, for a time, raised bird dogs. Later in life, his passion shifted to horses, and he traveled to many places to ride, forming a special bond with his favorite horse, Bo. He also developed a love for golf, becoming an active participant in local tournaments at the City Park in Madisonville, KY. One of his lifelong dreams was fulfilled when he attended the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA. A devoted sports fan, he proudly supported University of Kentucky basketball and football. His greatest love above all else was his love for his mother, his wife, his daughter, and family.
He met his wife at Denny’s when he asked to buy her a cup of coffee, asking her to say yes so he wouldn’t be turned down in front of his friends. That simple moment grew into many happy years together. They enjoyed traveling with their horses, golfing (with Vicky driving the cart), raising their fur babies, walking at the park with Bella, and trips to Dairy Queen.
He cherished time spent with his only daughter, especially their fishing adventures together when she was younger. He coached her Little League softball teams with pride and created lasting memories by cutting fresh Christmas trees and bringing beehives to her elementary school to share with her classmates
