In Hopkins County, the deadline to run for public office is today at 4. The clerk’s office says this applies to all county residents.
When the Hopkins County Fiscal Court meets today, they will hear the second reading of the amendment to change the Personnel Policy applying to vacation accrual, and consider the renewal of the Rave Alert. The meeting begins this morning at 10 at the Government Center.

A swerving car on I-69 in Madisonville is what led to the arrest of the driver. As the officer was processing the traffic stop, he noticed that Johnny Duncan’s hands were shaking and that he was very nervous. Later, the drug dog Bane sniffed out meth and some other unspecified drug in the trunk. Duncan was transported to the detention center.
Our junior senator is not pleased that Americans were told to stop questioning Covid’s origins. Our state has a college tuition waver that’s being used by more and more foster and adopted youth. The Kentucky Department for Community Based Services says in the last decade, the graduation rate has increased from about 8 percent to 40 percent. It’s thought that this is because community and technical colleges are providing a more accessible and flexible pathway in the from foster care. Foster youth are still less likely to graduate from high school.
Election day is not over for the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office. They received 154 complaints regarding election law violations or voting irregularities.
