Sometimes, the Hopkins County Humane Society has to contact the police about retrieving an animal from a residence. When the police visited a house on Hopewell Street, they discovered that Stephanie Jones was in violation of an Emergency Protection Order. So the humane society took the animal, and the police transferred Jones to the detention center.
The Madisonville City Council convenes this (Monday) afternoon at 4:30 at city hall. New business includes the second reading of the ordinance that adopts the new annual budget.
The state is out with a reminder. The new driver licensing system will replace the nearly 40-year-old platform and is part of the effort to modernize services. The upgraded system will allow Kentuckians to accomplish a number of things, such as pre-applying for a license, permit or ID, and requesting a card replacement. All Driver Licensing Regional Offices will be closed on Thursday, the 4th, and Friday, the 5th in order to launch the new and improved driver licensing system. The offices will reopen on Monday, the 8th. Customers with licenses or IDs expiring this month are encouraged to visit an office early.

It was a weaving car that led to a traffic stop on South Daves Street. The police report states that Tanya Cummings was very animated and had a high rate of speech. She agreed to a sobriety test in which she failed. Cummings was arrested and charged with three crimes, including operating a vehicle under the influence of a substance.
Free medical services are coming to Western Kentucky. The Delta Regional Authority and the U-S Department of War are partnering to bring the Green River Area Wellness Innovative Readiness Training Mission to residents of Henderson, Union and Webster counties and nearby communities from June 11th through 21st. Services will be offered to patients ages three and up on a first-come, first-served basis. No income or residency requirements will be needed to receive treatment. The location in Henderson will be at the North Middle School, in Morganfield at the Union County Middle School, and in Dixon at Webster County High School.
The state is modernizing its driver licensing system. This includes the online portal. It officially begins June 8th. This is the portal to create accounts to pre-apply for credentials, request card replacements, and track the status of licenses or IDs. Here’s Governor Beshear.
