The Madisonville Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation believes Kentucky is an excellent choice for filmmakers. The intention of the Kentucky Entertainment Incentive Program is to attract the film and entertainment industry to choose Kentucky for filming and producing motion pictures and entertainment productions. The E-D-C says the program offers a refundable and nontransferable tax credit.
The Senior Citizens Center in Madisonville would like to see more people using the center. It’s for everyone 50 and older. The fiscal court heard about the center in their last meeting.

The Madisonville police have a report on the intoxicated man who was seen fleeing from a domestic disturbance. Patrick Kirk was stopped because he failed to use his turn signal on Island Ford Road. The sobriety test proved that he was intoxicated. Kirk admitted that he had been drinking the night before, and that he also had been taking some prescription medications. Officers located some alcohol in his vehicle. They found out that Kirk had two previous D-U-I convictions.
The Hopkins County Humane Society is looking forward to Friday, the 15th. That’s the day for the Partners for Paws community spay-neuter voucher program will be held at the Madisonville Lions Club at 505 Hospital Drive. No appointment is necessary. A school bus accident Friday morning in Muhlenberg County is being investigated. There were only minor injuries on bus 124.
The choral director at Hopkins Central is glad that the school choir was able to do a performance in Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. When Kelly Oliver learned the museum was looking for performers, she jumped at the chance. They did a 20 to 30 minute performance that included some country standards and My Old Kentucky Home. Oliver says their next performance will be at the baccalaureate service.
