Shirley Farmer Whitsell, 67, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.She was born on April 10, 1959, in Chicago, IL, to Bonnie Lee Buckner Jones and the late James Albert Farmer. She was a self-employed private sitter. She enjoyed crocheting, playing games on her iPad, and going to Flea Markets. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her family. Shirley was a member of Day Star Worhip Center in Bremen, KY.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-nine years, Danny Whitsell; mother, Bonnie Lee Buckner Jones; daughter, Debra (Derek) Messimore; sons, Daniel Boyd, Jr. and Pete Boonyarungsrit; several brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Ariah Messimore, Bentlei Messimore, Naomi Messimore, Phoenix Boyd, Martina Peak, and Simon Boonyarungsrit; and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
