The National Weather Service says above normal temperatures will continue into next week.
The hospital patient at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville who kicked security officers is now facing an assault charge. Prior to the assault, Tyra Moore had been complaining of pain when she grabbed a computer monitor and tried to throw it at the medical staff. Even when Moore was restrained in a bed, she made violent threats to the medical personnel before she was given medication to calm her down.
The state police are reminding Hopkins County that they have not forgotten the Madisonville man who disappeared 29-years-ago. They say 29-year-old Charles Massey was last seen delivering Easter baskets. He is described as a white male, around 6-feet tall, 175 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. The K-S-P says are still encouraging anyone with a tip to contact them about Charles Massey.
For the rest of the month, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office is conducting proactive enforcement patrols and traffic safety checkpoints. They encourage all motorists to slow down, focus on defensive driving, and wear their seat belts. The W-C-S-O will release monthly notices of potential checkpoint areas but will not provide exact dates and times.
The state is making a move to nuclear power. Senate Bills 57 and 157 could potentially lower utility costs through a nuclear energy development pilot program. Governor Beshear says this legislation will help more families achieve homeownership by lowering mortgage rates and potentially lowering utility rates for the long term.
The Madisonville Parks Director says he loves working with organizations that want to assist his department in a project. Caleb Nelson says his job is overseeing one project after another to keep the city’s parks in their best condition.
Many Kentucky Community and Technical College System students report housing instability, and insecurity over where their next meal will come from. A study by Trellis Research found that inflation and economic hardship continues to be a problem affecting many students. The K-C-T-C-S recently raised over 57-thousand dollars when they teamed up with Feeding Kentucky for the annual benefit dinner known as Serving Up Solutions. On Saturday, all state flags will be at half-staff to honor a Kentucky airman who died while supporting Operation Epic Fury. 34-year-old Tech. Sergeant Ashley Pruitt of Bardstown died March 12th in the crash of a KC-135 refueling tanker in western Iraq. It’s hoped many will join in this tribute.
