Obituary
He was born on September 27, 1957, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Edna Alice Sisk Smith and Clarence U. Smith. He retired from Goodyear and was also recently employed by the Hopkins County Board of Education as a custodian. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Dale attended Christian Assembly Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ava Smith; and his brothers, Larry Smith, Eddie Smith, and Bobby Smith.
His survivors include his wife, Mildred Pauline Wolfe Smith of Sebree; sons, Craig (Rie) Matsui Smith of Japan and Matt (Leslie) Smith of Carthage, TN; daughter, Kristen Smith of Mills River, NC; stepsons, Allen (Dez) Laughary of Marion, KY, Billy Laughary of Evansville, IN, and Brian (Amanda) Laughary of Madisonville; brothers, Billy (Ann Kay) Smith and Danny (Debbie) Smith, both of Madisonville; sisters, Barbara (Jeff) Ramsey of Manitou, KY and Debbie (Ronnie) Simms of Madisonville; grandchildren, Seacret Lee, Tyreece Stone, and Touma Matsui Smith; eight step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Ellis officiating. Burial to follow at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Brad Ramsey, Ronnie Simms, Brian Smith, Tyreece Stone, Allen Laughary, and Brian Laughary.
