Edgar Lacy Ramsey passed away on March 9, 2026, at Baptist Deaconess in Madisonville. He was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Richland, KY, to the late Leonard and Elle Mae Ramsey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ramsey, and sisters Anna Mae (Ray) Polley and Margaret (Randle) Riley. He is survived by his YOUNGER brother Charlie Ramsey of Wichita KS; sons, Eric (Crystal) Ramsey of Madisonville and Rufus (Sheila) Baker of Hanson; his daughter, Dawn (Dan) Farwick of Independence KY; grandchildren, Katelyn (Josh) Mitchell of Elizabethtown KY, Kyle (Maddie) Ramsey of Colorado Springs CO, Dylan Baker of Evansville IN, and Kathryn Baker of Lexington KY; great-grandson, Lincoln Mitchell of Elizabethtown, and a host of nieces and nephews. After graduating from Dalton School, Ed served with the Army in El Paso, TX. Upon returning to Madisonville, he worked at Melody Lanes, WFMW radio, and then Cole’s Office Outfitters, which he later co-owned until his retirement. Ed was very involved in his church and community, serving as deacon, elder, and chairman of the World Outreach Committee for several years at First Christian Church and serving on several Walk to Emmaus and Great Banquet teams. Ed’s serving spirit continued in his many mission trips to Nicaragua. He also volunteered at various community organizations, including the Glema Center and Habitat for Humanity. In his “spare” time you would find Ed at Melody Lanes on league night. We are grateful for the wonderful care Dad received while in the Emergency Room and 3 East at Baptist Deaconess Hospital. We especially want to thank Aiden, Kaitlyn, and Megan for their compassionate care on 3 East. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 14, 2026, at First Christian Church, 1030 College Drive, Madisonville, with Pastor Kara Foster officiating.
