Rita Mearle Corbitt, 92

Rita Mearle Corbitt ,92, of Earlington, KY passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

She was born on February 13, 1934 in Madisonville, KY to the late Raymond and Mae Emery.

Rita was of the Pentecostal faith.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed camping and traveling. She retired from Regional Medical Center where she had worked as a Nurse Aide.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Sutt” Corbitt; one son, Robert Offutt, one daughter, Debra Jean Dunn; three sisters, Nora Ray Bryant, Wilma Hancock, and Catherine Hancock; one brother, Raymond Emery Jr.; and one granddaughter, Kelly Marie Stone.

Rita is survived by her children, Donna Gayle Brasher and her husband, Ricky, of Madisonville, KY, Rita Kay Offutt of Earlington, KY, Barry Dwayne Offutt and his wife, Karen, of Madisonville, KY, and Phillip Alan “P.A.” Offutt of Madisonville, KY ; one sister, Betty Word of Madisonville, KY; two half sisters, Betty Taylor of Beaver Dam, KY and Lilly Sutton of Slaughters, KY; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be private at Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington, KY with Ricky Allen Brasher officiating.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Offutt Jr., Barry Offutt Jr., Steven Offutt, Michael Dunn, Ricky N. Brasher, Leland Brasher, Troy Collins, and Sammy Offutt.
