Larry Gene Oglesby, 78

Larry Gene Oglesby, 78, of Madisonville, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. He was born August 11, 1947 in Madisonville to the late James C. Oglesby and Gertrude Kirkwood Oglesby. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James C. Oglesby, Jr. Larry worked as the CFO at Hudson and Watermark. He was also involved in and was a founding member of the Citizen’s Police Academy. Larry was also a member of the Parkinson’s Group at the YMCA. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Barber Oglesby; daughter, Lyndsay (Parvin) Phillips of Owensboro and her children, Hannah Livingston and Emma Livingston; son, Jesse Oglesby of Nebo; daughter, Megan (James) Crumley of Marietta, GA and her children, Scarlett, Nevan, and Teagan Crumley; son, Christopher Noah of Madisonville; and sister, Cecilia Bane of Madisonville. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Goodman officiating. Burial will take place at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
