Delores Helen Hayes, 70

Delores Helen Hayes, 70, of Mortons Gap, Ky passed away at her home on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

She was born on April 30,1955 in Michigan City, IN to the late Paul and Verdie Helen Tirey.

She was of the Christian faith. She retired from Hopkins County School System.

Delores was a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud Memaw whose greatest joy in life was her family. She will always be remembered for her caring heart, strong love, and the way she made those around her feel supported and cherished.

She shared over 53 wonderful years of marriage and friendship with her loving husband, Paul. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and dedication to one another. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment, companionship, and love.

Delores considered her children to be her greatest accomplishment. She poured her heart into raising, supporting, and loving them unconditionally. As a Memaw, she continued that same deep love and pride, creating special memories and sharing a bond that her grandchildren will carry with them forever.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family devotion that will continue through all who knew and loved her. Delores will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.

Delores is survived by her husband, Paul Hayes of Mortons Gap, KY; three children, Chalon (Jamie) Hayes of Slaughters, KY, Kelcey (Todd) Postlewait of Nortonville, KY, and Cameron (Britta) Hayes of Dawson Springs, KY;  one sister,  Jannie Tirey of Mortons Gap, KY; five grandchildren, Lana Hayes, Lila Hayes, Miles Hayes, Parker Hayes, and Wyatt Postlewait.

Visitation for friends will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM.

Memorial service will be private at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Pastor Chalon Hayes assisted by Wilbur Hayes.  Entombment will be private at Old Salem cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association and American Heart Association.
