Obituary
He was born on January 30, 1948, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Fairy Edilene Forbes Hendricks and Kent Hubert Hendricks. He retired as a coal miner from Peabody Coal Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. David was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Hendricks; sisters, Betty Wagoner, Doris Marks, and Shirley Vandiver; and his grandson, Jordan Sorrells.
His survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Susan Fireline Hendricks of Anton, KY; daughters, Krisite Durham of Florida and Tina Anderson of Dunmor, KY; son, Dwight Hendricks of Central City, KY; sister, Lou (David) Adams of Anton; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Rascal.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Shelly Hendricks officiating. Burial to follow at Hicklin Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Derek Orange, Michael Fryar, D. C. Belt, Lynn Adams, Shelly Hendricks, and Kent Vandiver. Honorary pallbearer is David Adams.
