Mildred Faye Prowse, 91

Mildred Faye Prowse, 91, of Madisonville, KY passed away on January 21, 2026.

She was born on March 26, 1934 in Central City, KY to the late Harry and Lola Oates

Faye was a member of Nortonville Methodist church and was active in Project Light. She loved UK basketball, enjoyed crochet, and was an avid Coca cola fan. She had worked at Earlington Pharmacy for nineteen years and had worked in the Christmas Store at Fugate Lumber.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Walter Prowse; her daughter and son in law, Pam and Broc Oglesby; two sisters; and one brother.

Faye is survived by her daughter, Kim Hurless and her husband, James, of Madisonville, KY; beloved caregiver, Darlene Adamson of St. Charles, KY;  three grandchildren, Joey (Tessa) Oglesby, JT (Laura) Oglesby, and  Wesley (Emily) Hurless; six great grandchildren, Kaesey Van Dyken, Michael Luckett, Dylan Oglesby, Marc Oglesby, Kaelyn Ogelsby, and Josie Oglesby; five great- great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Dennis Mayfield officiating assisted by Jim Arnett, and burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 from 10:00 AM until service time at 2:00PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joey Oglesby, JT Oglesby, Marc Oglesby, Brandon Woodruff, Jim Arnett, Steve Arnett, Rob Arnett and John Arnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Hurless and Josie Oglesby

Memorial contributions may be made to Nortonville City Park.
