The office is next to the West Kentucky Archery Center.
In Hopkins County, law enforcement says a phone scam supposedly involving the sheriff’s office has a lot of people disturbed. A number of people have received calls from individuals posing as law enforcement who are saying they have missed jury duty and must pay a fine immediately over the phone to avoid arrest. The H-C-S-O says if you receive one of these scam calls, just hang up. They say a threatening phone call is not the way they do business.
In Hopkins County, the V-F-W Post 5480 in Madisonville is no longer part of the national organization. The Bailey Pride, Junior Veterans Center is a 3rd party non-profit organization. Tomorrow, there will be a pop-up driver licensing program in Webster County. Appointments are required. Their services include the REAL ID. It will be in Dixon at the U-K Cooperative Extension Office at 11-18 US Highway 41-A South. To register, use this address: drive dot k-y-dot-G-O-V.
The driver of a swerving Dodge Charger on I-69 is facing seven charges. The police say a strong marijuana smell was in the vehicle of Bobby Riley. Riley could not produce a valid driver’s license. A red bag in the vehicle contained suspected meth and fentanyl, marijuana, digital scales, and a bottle of Clonazepam (klo-NAZ-uh-pan) pills. The police say Riley is a suspected drug dealer from Louisville.
Many are saying Minnesota Governor Tim Walz must appear before the House Oversight Committee to answer questions related to rampant taxpayer fraud in the state’s social programs. On Fox News, Kentucky Congressman James Comer claims the governor has known about this taxpayer fraud for years.
Mr. Comer said he is prepared to issue a subpoena to compel the governor’s testimony.
In Frankfort, the secretary of state says 87 percent of the new registered voters are declaring themselves to be Republicans. Michael Adams says there were almost 57-hundred new voters. He says Democratic registration has fallen by 33 percent.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office has a new deputy. Ron Black will now start his field training. Black has just graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice-West Basic Training Academy. He received the Coordinators Award and the Award for Most Improved For Physical Fitness and Defensive Tactics.
