The Madisonville driver observed by the police consistently crossing the double yellow line on Grapevine Road is facing three driving violations. During the traffic stop, Marvin Hernandez could not provide a driver’s license or proof of insurance. Hernandez’s friend told the officer that he was learning how to drive and understands that he should not have been on a public road.
The congressman representing this district in Kentucky says his Oversight Committee is working to protect taxpayers as a taxpayer fraud in Minnesota is uncovered. James Comer appeared on Newsmax.
The state police say the bad guys in their scams favor impersonating law enforcement officers. Generally, the caller alleges there is a warrant related to the individual’s Sex Offender Registry status and requests money for a bond payment. The state police say this is not the way the system works.
Presently, there are 14 candidates who want to be the next Kentucky senator. The latest to toss his hat into the ring is businessman, aviation professional, and Air Force veteran, Michael Faris. He is a Republican.
In Frankfort, the Citizen Foster Care Review Board is asking for volunteers to join a board to review cases of children in foster care. They say this is due to dependency, neglect and abuse. The M-P-D says the man who caused a disturbance Sunday afternoon at a restaurant is facing six charges, that include possession of synthetic drugs, and resisting arrest. The incident at Mister Taco on East Center Street involved Dustin Holt. The police say Holt refused to move from laying underneath a customer’s vehicle.
There are not as many horse and buggy accidents as there used to be but a 17-year-old boy from Dawson Springs is O-K following an accident in Caldwell County a few mornings ago. It was on Hopkinsville Road near mile marker 4. The sheriff’s office says someone in a motorized vehicle struck the buggy. Even though the teenager was thrown from it, he said he wasn’t hurt and declined treatment.
Virtually every year a member of the Madisonville Police Department is recognized for his D-U-I enforcement. This year, the the Kentucky Governor’s Award for Impaired Driving Enforcement is going to Officer Steven Krueger.
2025 is the year that the Kentucky Sports Factory finally came to be. Mayor Kevin Cotton says it took about 20 years for the city and county to make it happen. He says the positive impact on the community is difficult to calculate.
The McLean County Emergency Management says the the tornado siren at the Sacramento Fire Department is not working. The siren behind Camron’s store is working. They say that if you are outside, you should be able to hear it, otherwise, make sure your weather radio is working.
