The Greenville Fire Department is supplying the media with the details about a house fire on Monday afternoon. Upon arriving in the 200 block of North Cherry Street, heavy smoke was visible from the roof of the one-story structure. Both residents were outside. No one was hurt. The fire caused a portion of the roof to fall in the middle of the residence. In two hours, the fire crew returned to their station.
Kentucky Congressman James Comer is applauding the president for deeming President Biden’s autopen actions null and void. During an appearance on Fox News, he said the House Oversight Committee recently exposed how the Biden Autopen Presidency is one of the biggest political scandals in U.S. history.
Mr. Comer stressed that the President and his administration are delivering accountability.
The Madisonville police are reporting a sucide yesterday (on Wednesday) afternoon on I-69. The police were informed of a reckless driver in a pickup. After the driver pulled onto the shoulder just past Exit 1-14, a gunshot was then heard. When it was determined that it was safe to approach, the police confirmed it was a self-inflicted gunshot. The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
The M-P-D has the details of a multi-vehicle collision on Monday during the noon hour on North Main. The police say 37-year-old Justin Underwood of Mortons Gap was under the influence of alcohol when his Mitsubishi Endeavor caused significant damage to the 5 vehicles it struck. He also pulled a utility line across the road and destroyed a lamp post. Underwood faces 3 charges that include wanton endangerment.
A relatively new non-profit drug rehab ministry in Hanson is getting some support from the Hopkins County Fiscal Court. A spokesman for the Gyra (JIE-ruh) House ministry addressed the court.
The fiscal court awarded Gira House 40-thousand dollars. This is the third year of their ministry.
The Webster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at the Slaughters Dollar General. It occurred just before 1 AM on Tuesday morning. There’s a photo of a suspect on the sheriff’s Facebook page. If you have any information, please contact authorities.
