The Madisonville police say the bicycle that was stolen twice this week is now back with its owner. James Majors confessed to stealing the one-thousand dollar bicycle from Lowe’s late Monday afternoon. But Majors could not produce the bike because he said it had been stolen from him. At 1:23 Tuesday morning, the M-P-D arrested Kalen Harris on North Scott Street. Harris was charged with receiving stolen property. Harris admitted that he had taken the bike, telling the police that that the person who took it would not report it as stolen.
Hopkins County is in the process of constructing some tornado shelters. Emergency Management director Nick Bailey says it’s a lengthy project.
According to C-N-N, the six U-S soldiers killed by an Iranian missile strike in Kuwait were based in Fort Knox. They were assigned to the 1st Theater Sustainment Command. The conflict between the U.S. and Iran began anew early Saturday when the U.S. and its allies fired missiles at Iran in an operation called Epic Fury. The White House said the objectives of the mission were to destroy Iran’s missiles and navy, prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and stop Iran from supporting allied armed groups.
The Commonwealth is still ranking high in the Site Selection magazine Governor’s Cup rankings. This is the 6th year Kentucky has made it to the top five. Madisonville is one of the 13 communities placed in the Top Micropolitan rankings. Madisonville and Hopkins County continue to invest in site readiness and long-term competitiveness, from the Hoffman Packaging announcement to the ongoing developments at Industrial Park II and securing the C-S-X SelectSite Silver designation. The rankings are regarded by corporate real estate analysts as an industry scoreboard.

The bridge is scheduled to open in five years. These rates won’t begin until 2032.
The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development says the state leads the nation with the highest percentage of foreign direct investment jobs in the manufacturing sector. Additionally, Kentucky ranks second for the largest concentration of foreign direct investment jobs as a percentage of total private-sector employment.
