The Madisonville police officers who visited a residence to arrest a fugitive are reporting
the arrest of another person as well. As Kimberly Thompson gathered her things that she would need in jail, the officer
noticed marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain sight in the residence on Pride Avenue. Later, using a search warrant, the
officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. This resulted in the arrest of Jesse Hibbs that included trafficking in a
controlled substance.
In Madisonville, the transportation department is using a computer program to evaluate
the condition of the city’s streets. The Transportation Superintendent is Landon Gamblin.
Gamblin says in the Tri-State, Madisonville’s roads rate very well in cities of comparable size.
Residents in the Green River Area Development District needing assistance in

The city of Dawson Springs says they need to replace items that the federal and
state governments are unable to provide. These include benches, picnic tables, trash cans, bleachers, and other easily
movable park-related items that keep it functional. Presently, pool chairs are greately needed. The goal is to raise 800-
dollars to purchase 32 chairs.
The M-P-D says the woman who attempted to use fake money to bond out an inmate at
the detention center is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument. 39-year-old Felicia Howard was jailed
Sunday afternoon with trying to use 15 fake 100-dollar bills that had been mixed in with real cudrrency. Howard will be in
court on Friday, the 27th.
It’s not unusual for the police officer who does a traffic stop to smell marijuana in the
vehicle. When this happened on East Arch Street recently, it was the passenger who had the controlled substance and was
arrested. Katheryn Stanley changed vehicles and was transported to the detention center.
There’s legislation in Frankfort to create a refundable renter tax credit designed to provide
financial relief to low-income residents. It’s sponsor is Minority Floor Leader from Jefferson County, Pamela Stevenson.
The Commonwealth continues to see nearly double the national rate of child maltreatment incidents. The state says more children are increasingly at risk of interactions with online predators. If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, call the Child Protection Hotline.
