In Madisonville, the Hopkins County Humane Society now has a temporary facility. It’s at 3-19 Dulin Street. All intakes must be scheduled. Due to space constraints, they must schedule all intaking appointments. Once the facility is full, they cannot accept additional animals until space opens up. The new building will be cnstructed at the site of the old one on Laffoon Trail.
In Hopkins County, the sheriff’s office has a new deputy. Justin Horne has most recently worked with the Ky Department of Corrections. He will go into full service once he attends Department of Criminal Justice basic training here in Madisonville.

In Muhlenberg County, a three-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon has one person being treated in Evansville and two people hospitalized locally. The collision occurred in the 21-hundred block of West Everly Brothers Boulevard. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
The Kentucky Division of Forestry says we are now in the wildfire hazard season. It runs until May. Outdoor burning is restricted from 6 in the morning until 6 in the evening within 150 feet of woodland or brushland.

The Madisonville Police are charging three persons with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Using a search warrant, the cops searched a home in the 200 block of Dulin Street and found Jack Greenwell, Christine Williams and Tasha Johnson. They were in possession of a glass smoking pipe located near suspected methamphetamine.
A careless driver is what drew the attention of the police on Island Ford Road. Ricky Staton told the officer that he was texting a picture to his girlfriend. Staton could not provide the officer with his driver’s license and admitted that he had no auto insurance. Staton was arrested and faces five charges.
The state police say the fatal car crash last week in Muhlenberg County is still being investigated. Brandi Eaves lost her life in Sacramento near the 65-hundred block of Kentucky Highway 81. The preliminary investigation indicates that Eaves’ minivan was traveling southbound on KY 81 when it collided with the rear of a dump trailer on Wednesday, the 11th, at about 7 AM.
This is the 5th year of the rebuilding of Dawson Springs following the December tornado. This week, Governor Andy Beshear participated in the ceremony to rebuild the swimming pool and the ball fields at the city park.
