In Hopkins County, the humane society is preparing to open their temporary shelter. They’re asking the community will help supply pet food, and fleece, or sturdy blankets. In a short period of time, the Madisonville police caught their suspect who had left the scene of an accident. He was easy to locate since he had no shirt or shoes. Avery Dunn was arrested on Hall Street and charged with 7 crimes, including criminal mischief and posession of marijuana. At the time of his arrest, the police report stated that Dunn was so intoxicated that he couldn’t stand up.
In Muhlenberg County, fire marshalls and law enforcement are investigating some house fires. Since Thanksgiving day, residential fires have occurred with moderate property damage or complete destruction listed for 8 separate locations. Three were being occupied. There are no injury reports. Anyone with information should contact authorities.

In Hopkins County, the humane society is preparing to move into a temporary shelter until their new building is constructed. The tempoary shelter was their old building at 3-19 Dulin Street. The Executive director is Dustin Potenza.
It’s going to be a busy week for the state senator representing Hopkins, Henderson, Union, and Webster counties. Robby Mills says as Majority Caucus Chairman, he’ll be hearing the concerns of the other members. He says this week, he’ll sign a priority bill on Housing, do a K-E-T Kentucky Tonight program, speak to the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, hold a Frankfort press conference on Senate Bill 9, start a budget prep meeting, attend four Leadership meetings, and tape a Fox 56 show.
More details about a single-vehicle injury collision on I-69 is out from the Webster County Sheriff’s Office. It occurred Saturday evening near mile marker 134. Passenger Dusty Weir has admitted that she gave false information because she had an outstanding warrant from Daviess County. Weir has now been charged with fentanyl and drug possession and is facing four charges.
The Hopkins County Sanitation Department says their convenience centers will begin taking plastic again. The announcement was made in fiscal court.
