The state police are searching for a Muhlenberg County teenager. 17-year-old girl Peyton G. Speck was last seen in Powderly on Friday. She is almost 6 feet tall and weights roughly 160 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Peyton Speck was last seen wearing a black coat with fur on the edges.

In serving an Emergency Protection Order to a Whittington Drive resident, the M-P-D discovered an intoxicated Joshua Offutt sitting in his Toyota Camry. A family member had removed the keys from the vehicle. After staggering out of the vehicle for a sobriety test, he became aggressive which led to his arrest. When it was found that Offutt was in possession of meth, he began to kick at the officers, and had to be carried to the patrol car.
The report of a suspicious vehicle is what drew the police to a Washington Street address. Samuel Cartwright and Markenis Seaborn were in a Chevrolet Silerado with a glass smoking device with meth residue. Both Cartwright and Seaborn are facing drug possession charges.
Taxpayers are going to like this. The new 8 million dollar Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office at 261 Responders Lane in Madisonville, was paid for primarily with federal American Rescue Plan Act funds. County Judge Executive Jack Whitfield says that was a COVID-19 relief initiative. He explains.

In the state’s premier academic tournament, the District 5 Governor’s Cup leader is the team from Dawson Springs. The Panthers were awarded the Hume Sportsmanship Award for placing in the top five in their respective subject areas.
