The Madisonville Police Department is announcing a scam alert. They have received calls from residents who say they received a fake call from the police department for missing a federal grand jury summons. They also say they can avoid paying the warrant by using Bitcoin or other electronic means. The police say if you receive such a call, hang up.
The man who punched a healthcare provider in Madisonville is facing an assault charge. The victim told the police that Corbin Moore hit him for no reason. Multiple workers restrained Moore until the police arrived. The victim had redness and swelling near his right eye.
Even though he has a positive prognosis, Senator Mitch McConnell is hospitalized. The 83-year-old checked himself into a Washington D-C hospital on Monday night with what he described as flu-like symptoms.
Greenville will be getting almost two million dollars to support infrastructure- upgrades at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The announcement comes from Congressman Brett Guthrie. The upgrade is one of three state projects.
The state needs more public school teachers. Some say there are 25-hundred vacancies. Lawmakers are looking for ways to fix that problem by creating a faster track for students to become student apprentises. Here is 4th grade teacher Kim Kruse in Bowling Green.

28HOPKINS COUNTY 0204 In Hopkins County Fiscal Court this week, the sheriff gave the annual crime report. Matt Sanderson was happy to share some good figures.
The Webster County Water District is in the process of opening valves in order to fill the system. They say pushing water through more than 500 miles of water lines is a large task. In the meantime, they suggest conservative water use. They also say, some customers may experience low water pressure or air in their lines. If this occurs, they suggest checking later, because the system is stabilizing. Also, residents should be looking for a One-Call message with an update.
In Muhlenberg County, water crews are addressing several main line breaks. They were caused by freezing conditions. Now, they are making repairs as quickly as they can.
Kentucky communities are preparing for the impact of the new qualifications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Among other things, it reduces exemptions for veterans, the homeless and young adults in foster care. Able-bodied workers 18 to 64 years of age are required to work at least 80 hours a month. Those who qualify for SNAP will still need to re-certify their eligibility every six to 12 months. There are gray areas. Legislators say they deal with who can, and cannot work.
