Why are there so many snow plows on our roads? The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet here in District 2 is running their routes in their annual districtwide snow and ice training. They are reviewing operational procedures, testing equipment and driving their assigned routes. On mornings when the weather could be or is a problem, drivers can get traffic information at go-k-y dot K-Y dot g-o-v. That’s go-k-y dot K-Y dot g-o-v.
In Greenville, a plastic injection molder is getting some financial help from the state. The company known as Plastic Products will share 40-million dollars with three other plastics suppliers in the state. The governor says it’s an effort to boost laundry manufacturing. The new contracts are the first of many economic ripple effects from G-E Appliances’ 3-billion dollar, five-year plan to strengthen its U-S manufacturing footprint and expand its supply chain.
A deputy with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office is being promoted as a result of his academy graduation. Zach West has graduated from the 20-week Department of Criminal Justice Training Basic Academy in Richmond.
What if there was a state law against driving and holding a phone at the same time. It might happen. When the state legislature meets in January, Senator Jimmy Higdon will make such a proposal. (Clip in audio below)
The state senator for Hopkins, Webster, Union, and Henderson counties says he’s working hard to keep this region of the state in the forefront as the state’s energy sector changes. Robby Mills says this involves the evolution of technology and A-I. In recent days, he squeezed in an hour-long session with the Kentucky League of Cities.

The senator representing Hopkins County in Frankfort is staying abreast of significant matters for Kentuckians. This week, Robby Mills attended the P-P-L Corporation Summit at U-K. P-P-L is the energy company that owns the electricity and natural gas providers, L-G-&-E and K-U. Mills says tech innovators from around the country spoke on future energy needs, as well as data centers, EV’s, future batteries and tech stocks futures.
In Webster County, rescue crews have temporarily halted the search for the man who flipped his A-T-V on Wednesday night near Bill Dorris Road in the town of Diamond. His name and condition are not known. Meanwhile, response teams remain on standby. Officials say his phone cannot be tracked because it did not have a SIM card.
The superintendent of the Webster County Schools is encouraged by the improved scores after reviewing School Assessment and Accountability Data. Aaron Harrell is proud of the commitment and perseverance of the students and staff. He says there were many encourging numbers.
