The Delta Regional Authority knows that it’s a community’s infrastructure that supports public safety and economic growth. Through D-R-A funds, the City of Madisonville is receiving one point three million dollars to extend a waterline serving the West Kentucky Regional Law Enforcement Training Center and the Kentucky Municipal Energy Agency power generation plant. Additionally, the Muhlenberg County Fiscal Court received 150-thousand dollars to conduct a water and wastewater feasibility study.
The Kentucky Chamber will soon convene its Legislative Preview Conference for policymakers and issue experts. The speakers include some names you might know: Representatives Jim Gooch and Wade Williams, and Senator Robby Mills. It’s in Lexington today at the Central Bank Center.
In Washington D-C, the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability believes President Biden’s inner circle fed misleading talking points to progressive allies and media outlets in order to sustain the false narrative that President Biden was fit to serve. Congressman James Comer appeared on NewsNation. He said the evidence indicates senior Biden staff made key executive decisions without the president’s knowledge. (Clip in audio below)
It’s a good thing when the fire department turns up at a location where smoke was reported, and there’s no more smoke. In this case,a large plume of smoke was reported near a railroad track, but by the time the M-F-D arrived, it was gone. The smoke had been seen in the area near the Huddle House on Hudson Park Drive.
The state senator representing Hopkins, Henderson, Union, and Webster counties is running for a third term. Robby Mills describes himself as a proud ally of President Trump. His supporters say he is a a fighter for working families, the coal industry, and conservative values. Senator Mills is a small business owner who has been married for 36-years. He and Vickie have a son named Noah.
Members of the Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission say the West Kentucky Film Commission will be in California this week to meet with the American Film Market. The meeting is set for tomorrow through Sunday. It’s hoped that Western Kentucky will get its chance to become a hub for film and television production.
The Hopkins County Humane Society is doing all it can to become operational again. They lost their building to a tornado in the spring and are in the process of rebuilding. On their Facebook page, the humane society says it is anxious to again provide care and placement for animals in need.
The absence of SNAP benefits has caused every state to take action. Governor Andy Beshear says there are partial SNAP benefits in this deeply political controversy. (Clip in audio below)
