The Madisonville cop who did a traffic stop because he spotted a driver not wearing a seatbelt, ended up proving him with an additional ticket. The officer learned that Ryan Bransky’ driver’s license had been suspended for 18 months.
A Hopkins County road is back in service. A two and a half mile portion of Brown Road had been closed since last month due to flood erosion.
The Webster County Sheriff’s Office is looking to hire part-time individuals to serve as courthouse security officers. High school graduates who have a driver’s license are eligible. Visit the sheriff’s website for all of the details.

The governor says while some states are in a recession, Kentucky’s economy is expanding. That’s also the view Moody’s Analytics. The governor says our country may be facing some challenges, but Kentucky is working hard to ensure our economic success. Andy Beshear says Kentucky is partnering with the iconic company (dee-ADJ-ee-oo) with 290-million dollars invested in our state and over 16-hundred jobs.
The organization known as Champions for a Drug Free Muhlenberg County says persons who need to dispose of prescription medication, can do so by placing the item in a small container known as an R-x Destroyer. They are located in all of the public schools, at all locations of law enforcement, and at the health department. Remember, drug take back day is Saturday, the 18th from 9 until 1 in Central City at TrueNorth.
An employee at a tax shop in Madisonville is charged with engaging in organized crime and with the falsification of a document with the intent to defraud. Kimberly Britto works at Delgado’s Tax Services at 1-08 West Center Steet. Since October 1st, the M-P-D has been investigating the shop regarding the trafficking of fraudulent driver’s licenses. In this case, an undercover cop got a fraudulent license by providing Britto with a fake identity and 350-dolllars in cash The police say three or more persons have been identified.
According to the state, the overall workforce participation is almost 4 percentage-points below the national average. The state also says childcare directly affects workforce participation, especially among mothers. Many parents find themselves having to make some hard decisions. A group of Kentucky lawmakers met to take a look at the impact of artificial intelligence here in the Commonwealth. The meeting comes as a growing number of children are using chatbots (CHAT-bahts) every day to get personal advice and emotional support. It’s reported that the group is concerned with the use of A-I Chatbots in mental and behavioral health.
In Frankfort, the Transportation Cabinet says the scholarship season is here for Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and Civil Engineering Technology. Students can receive awards as high as 59-thousand dollars. Details are on the Transportation Cabinet website.
